Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla sugar
  • 1 cup sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 200° F.
  2. In a mixing bowl combine ingredients and beat until stiff peaks form.
  3. Spoon onto a foil covered cookie sheet (or pipe to make them look pretty). 
  4. Bake for 2 hours. Turn oven off.
  5. Leave meringues in oven for at least 2 additional hours (until completely cool) or overnight.
  6. Carefully peel off foil and store in an airtight container. 

Helpful hints

  • Vanilla sugar is granulated sugar flavored with a vanilla bean. You can substitute 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and granulated sugar.
